Woven Medicine Rattle
This beautiful Rattle was woven under the boughs of an old Ash Tree. Created in ceremony and birthed from red deer hide from the Highlands of Scotland. One side features hair-on-hide, lending a distinct wildness here. It is stitched with waxed cotton and mounted on a roe deer leg, completed with a barn owl feather and a fallow deer bone.
Inside is a gathering of fox cub bones, blended with red carnelian crystals and clear quartz, which amplifies all that is held here.

Holding this rattle in my hands, woven with Fox, Deer, Owl, and soft hand-spun wool it's as though a gathering of forest spirits is cradled within my grasp.
I often sense the membrane between the betwixt and between, sometimes pulsating as if to beckon, 'look here,' other times, like now, feeling it thin —as though I could stretch my hands through, touch who is there and feel their breath upon my skin. It's though my ears can discern the conversations that my human form cannot comprehend.
While crafting this rattle, these words were spoken to me by the Ash Tree beside me:
'I know nothing of what is to come,
I know nothing of what will be discovered,
Nor the muddied pathways my feet may tread,
Nor the songs I am yet to encounter.
But I do know the surrender in not knowing,
The pain in the loss,
The joy in the love,
And the gift in realizing I am a part of everything.'
The Roe Deer leg this one is held on rests perfectly in my hand. A remembering of the wild hooves that lived in contact with these lands, the beat still vibrating in the depth of my palm.
