Introduction to Animism

I am delighted to invite you to join me on a gentle Introduction into Animism, which will take place at a beautiful & wild private residence just outside Ludlow, Shropshire on Sunday 26th February 2023.     Location and directions will be provided upon booking.

I am often asked what being an Animist is.    For me it is knowing the stories held in the Earth, on the Wind , in the Rivers and in the Fires around which we gather are as important as the stories held in my blood and bones.   It is being utterly interconnected with all of my kin, so I can hear the conversations of both the seen and unseen with the ears of my heart and taste their magic in my gut.  It’s about expanding my narrowed down perceptions so that I can grow to the edges of both my physical and conscious boundaries, where  I can no longer feel the ridge of separation between where I end and the rest of creation begins.

It is being in wonderous dance of reciprocity where my Wild Self can coexist in deep and utter connection with all of the Kin around me.

But I did not always have such an embodied connection with Nature and the Kin around us.  For a while, like so many of us in the Western World I had lost how to live fully and deeply in the world.  I forgot there was a different way of being, perhaps a product of cultural conditioning and the industrialised commercial reality that our lives are currently framed against yet, when I started on my journey to rediscover these lost ways, I found the amazing experiences reaching out to welcome me home.

And there is a real magic & power in reclaiming our connection. When we do so many of the ideologies that we have been given by society through our lives begin to crumble and fall away as we begin to rediscover our intuition,  our knowing, our place in the web.  We can become so much a part of the landscape that the Kin we live alongside start to recognise us from the way our feet caress the Earth or by the way our bodies moves as the wind dances around us. What a nourishing way to exisit.

And it is from this place we can start to the heal the wounds of disconnect that are like tears in the membranes of our Souls.

This connection is available to all of us.  It lives deep within our bones, we just need follow the pathways which glisten like constellation pillars to rediscover it. When we start to live a life in reciprocity and interconnectedness there is the most beautiful invitation to step into a different way of being which can open up these wonderful conversations with the Kin that live alongside us.

As part of this introduction day we will :

  •  Explore the strands of Animism -looking at where we have lost our connections both from a personal and societal view and start find ways to reconnect.

  • Discover what being in a reciprocal relationship looks and feels like & how being in relationship make us feel.

  • Journey back through time with deep imagery journey’s to help rediscover our lost connections.

  • We will walk the land and connect to nature with an invitation to feel into your wild self

  • We will co-create some simple nature connection practices  & rituals you can weave into your every day to help support and nourish moving to a more reciprocal way of being.
